Every other week I participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer. The meme is weekly, every Sunday, but I’ve decided to do it bi-weekly since I don’t usually have that much to share every single week. So, here are some updates from the last 2 weeks!
→ Well, we found out the gender of our baby!!! Drumroll . . .
A BABY BOY!
We’re so excited! He was a stubborn one and it took time to find out – so basically, he’s already stubborn like his parents 😆 & yes, we already have a name! We picked names a long time ago and it’s so nice to finally be able to use it. Although, it’s taking me some getting used to to go from saying “baby” or whatever vegetable/fruit he’s supposed to be the size of to using him/his/he or his name! Oops.
→ I finally finished a book, which I reviewed on Friday. Basically it’s taking me like 2 weeks to finish one book right now and I am not happy about that. I’ve purchased more books than I’ve read in one month alone! I need to make some more time for reading and less time doing whatever the hell it is I’m doing instead? lol
→ We saw The Lion King live action remake! I was going to write a review for it but I honestly don’t have a lot to say. It’s pretty much a carbon copy of the original without all the colorful cartoon-y stuff (obviously) & I still like the original way more. They did take out my husband’s favorite scene though, which he was very upset about! Have you seen it? Thoughts?

Congrats on the boy! I have a boy and my friends with girls tell me I’m lucky as they are low maintenance 😂😂
HAHA! I thought the same thing! I was actually hoping for a boy because of the low maintenance lol
And also if I had a girl I’d be bankrupt due to clothes, so many fab girls clothes out there!!

Any good books? I just finished “Descent” and unfortunately, I would not recommend. It makes me sad when I waste my time on a book that does not tick my boxes.
I have not seen the Lion King movie, and honestly, I don’t think I want to. The new editions ruin classics most of the time.

I haven’t read a lot this month! Just the two I reviewed so far. I am currently reading Sorcery of Thorns, though, so fingers crossed that’s good!

My son wants to see the live action remake of the lion king but I’m not on board with it at all… What’s the point in just repeating the original without changing anything? The live action Mulan however looks awesome. Can’t wait to see that next year!
Thank you! I do enjoy when they don’t change a lot because I love the original so much that I don’t want it to be ruined haha but since not much was changed, it’s hard to really review it, you know? lol

We haven’t seen the live action Lion King. We’ll probably rent it. I didn’t love the live action Jungle Book and I’m not a huge fan of these remakes that are the same as the originals, just not animated. I was something new and exciting and they could even be without music. Shocking, I know. Having said that, I did like the live Beauty and the Beast and I loved the live Cinderella, but I enjoyed that the story was different. Anyway, congrats on the baby boy! I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well!!

I think the Disney remakes are just so hard to please everyone. Some people want nothing to change (basically me) and others want them genuinely redone (not me) hahah. Like I’m not interested in seeing Mulan at all because it doesn’t have the songs or Mushu lol It’s hard to please everyone! Also, thank you so much <3
Congratulations on finding out the baby’s gender! And kudos for having a name already. I’m always hearing stories of parents who are still trying to decide on a name while the mom is in labor. LOL I probably won’t see The Lion King remake. It was never one of my favorites and it doesn’t sound like I’ll be missing much, anyway. Hope your week is off to a great start, Molly!

I didn’t watch The Lion King and I absolutely have no plans anymore. The expressionless animals seem to be a waste of money. I wanted to go because baby Simba is too cute even in CGI and I love listening to the “King of Pride Rock” score.

Baby Simba is very cute hahah. Honestly, even with the original, I never really cared to watch it passed Hakuna Matata, and it was the same for the live action. I just like baby Simba and all the songs before he grows up (I also really hate the Can You Feel the Love Tonight song ughhh) haha
Congratulations on being pregnant and finding out he’s a boy!! YAY! Reading slumps always kill me they are so frustrating, I hope your next book goes better. I just finished Crown of Coral and Pearl and really enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. ❤️
