hello, friends! i’m back! (for real this time)

Well, HELLO! Long time no talk, friends! Can you believe I haven’t posted to my blog since November of 2019? Crazy how time flies. Let’s catch up for a minute…

I didn’t expect to take a hiatus. I was going to continue blogging after my son was born – that plan clearly failed. Whenever I had a minute to myself, reading and blogging were at the bottom of my list of things I wanted to do.  Well, that’s changed now. So, here I am!

Though, some things in my life have changed (duh!). Our son, Emerson was born on December 10th. Exactly the day I thought he would arrive (my doctor disagreed with me, but I knew that would be the day from the very beginning). December 10th just so happens to be my best friend’s birthday, who passed away several years ago, so it feels surreal that my son shares her birthday. The world works in mysterious ways, friends. Emerson is now –nearly– four months old. He’s perfect and healthy. We are so blessed to have this little human in our lives. Even if finding time to do this or anything else is actually quite hard – I wouldn’t trade being a mother to him for anything in the world.

As for me, some of my interests are starting to shift so my blog is going to reflect that a bit. I’ll let you see what I mean in the coming months with my posts! Don’t worry, though, I won’t be transitioning into a mommy blog.

It’s still going to be nerdy stuff over here, folks.

On a final note, I know the world is crazy right now. COVID-19 is changing all of our lives. I’m hoping this blog will be a new escape from that for me and maybe for you, too. Most importantly, I hope you are all staying safe, healthy, checking in with your loved ones, and doing things that make you happy during these tough times.

How have all of you been? Really, just tell me how life has treated you in the last 5 months since I’ve been around!
Let’s catch up 🙂

Congrats on your little boy!!! My son’s birthday is December 11th– he’s a preteen now though. Those December birthday’s are rough. It’s like you just get done with Thanksgiving and you’re trying to mix in Christmas shopping AND birthday planning. Plus spending money at a time when you’re trying to allot it for Christmas 🙁

But that’s SO sweet that he was born on your friend’s birthday. Definitely meant to be.

Glad you are back!! I look forward to see what you’re reading 🙂

Oh gosh, I know! Then my husbands birthday is January 19th. So, we get a little break but it’s still pretty close! eep.

First off – congratulations! and best wishes for your little human 😃. I had to laugh when you said this won’t become a mommy blog anyway 😂. I hopet hat Emerson can help you stay sane during these crazy times, and that your family will stay healthy!

Here in Italy, we’ve been in lockdown for a month now, and though the next deadline is April 13th, we all know it will go far beyond that. Too many cases still, plus our government won’t want to let people out before Labour Day anyway…festivities are just too dangerous. I work for a local radio station, so I’m still going to work. I go to the supermarket once a week and queue for half an hour (this happens at 7-7.30 in the morning, because if you go later, you may take root outside). My hair is a mess. I’m just so cranky and tired.

hehehe I don’t think I have it in me to be a “mommy influencer” lol !

Oh my! I had no idea you were in Italy! I hope you and your family are all safe and healthy. It’ll probably go for much longer here too – I’m from California. We’re not the hardest hit but I can’t see the state letting up any time soon. My husband still has to go to work because he works in wastewater treatment, so he’s essential. It’s very stressful. Sending you all my love during this!

Glad to hear your son is healthy and doing well 🙂 That is nice that he has the same birthday as your best friend did. The world is definitely chaotic and scary right now, but I hope you and your family all stay safe <3 Glad you're back!

    Hello Molly!
Congratulations on welcoming a new member to your family! His birthday is wonderful and special indeed 🙂
I’m expecting in early October (haven’t talked about this on my blog yet lol) so it’s great to hear from a fellow mom on the blogosphere. I’ve definitely been thinking about how my future child would affect my blog. After hearing from other young mothers about how much work a child could be, I think I might be taking a hiatus as well :’)
Wishing you and your son all the best! Stay safe and healthy!
