The Sunday Post: Back To Your Regularly Scheduled Programming

Every other week I participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer. The meme is weekly, every Sunday, but I’ve decided to do it bi-weekly since I don’t usually have that much to share every single week. So, here are some updates from the last 2 weeks!

→ Hello! Wow! It’s been a minute. June was a crazy month and while I did say I might disappear here for a bit, I did not intend on taking almost a month break from the blog. Alas, prepping our home to list was a lot more work than I expected. I decluttered every room and every nook and cranny. I’m not completely done. I still need to do 1 deep clean of each room (you know, clean the baseboards, the walls, the ceiling fans, etc.) and clean up the patio – but the big bulk of the work is done! Now, I need to help my parents get their place in order so that when we sell, we can move in, and when we buy, there is less for them to go through! I’m super excited for this big change in our life. Emerson needs so much more space and to grow up with his parents and grandparents under one roof – he’ll have so much love in his life (might have to reign in my mom’s spoiling of him though 😆 )

→ Other than the “getting-ready-to-sell” stuff, life has been pretty normal. Emerson had his first trip to the aquarium. He was nervous at first but then loved it! He also had his first “toddler gymnastics” class which is just a bunch of toddlers running around in a room with music playing 😆 He was shy and stand-offish with that but that’s understandable – he’s basically only hung out with adults since he was born, so all these little kids and loud music was probably a shock to him. I hope he warms up to it as the weeks go on.

→ As for bookish stuff, I haven’t read anything at all for a month. I’m hoping to have more time now, though. Also, my indie author and small shop feature is being pushed by a month. So I’ll start posting those features starting in August instead of July (just so I don’t stress myself out as I ease back into blogging).

I haven’t posted much but here are the three I did post in June:

ON THESE BLACK SANDS by Vanessa Rasanen
Goodreads

I am finally starting On These Black Sands! I’ve started a few books over the last month but haven’t finished anything. I’m feeling good about finishing this one, though.

This comes out next month! You can preorder it from Crab Apple Books, your regular retailer, or FaeCrate has chosen this book for their August box! Check it out if you haven’t yet!

I hope you all have had a wonderful few weeks!
Tell me something good! What did you read? Did you go on any trips? Anything interesting happen?

Sorting, throwing, organizing and cleaning up are sometimes difficult or tiresome but so worthwhile in the end. I’ve got another round to do myself. I listen to audiobooks while working on it. Good luck!

Love the cover of On The Black Sands. Sounds like a good read too. Getting a house ready to sell is not fun! But hopefully you’ll be happy where you move, and I think grandparents getting time with grandkids like that is awesome! Have a great week!

Oh wow you’ve been busy! Good luck with everything and I hope it all goes well… and the toddler gymnastics thing sounds hilarious! As long as they’re having fun, right? 🙂

    Have a great week!

I’m not moving but I did a good cleaning too! Got the balcony which was a lot of work – ugh.

Is On These Black Sands YA or adult?

The Sunday Posts are actually some of my favs to read! I used to do them before as well. It’s much more chill and interactive. Glad to hear that you’ve been doing a bunch in real life and milestones are being crossed. And yes, ease back into blogging, don’t stress.

Oh that’s great to hear! I usually think people will find them boring. I am definitely going at a snail pace with blogging. I don’t even have a blog post ready to go for the rest of the week but I’m slowly working on one & hoping to post it by friday. We’ll see! Right now, it’s fun to blog hop again. I missed everyone!
