6 Indie Fantasy Books On My TBR

Today’s post is brought to you by the Wyrd and Wonder prompt “Off the Beaten Track” – all about indie or small press fantasy books! I love supporting indie authors, there are so many amazing indie books out there that don’t get enough love. So today, I’m sharing 6 indie fantasy books that are on my TBR (and that I already own). I’m not sharing their full synopsis (because the post would be way too long) but you can click the Goodreads link I provide for each book to get all the information! This is a short and sweet post (I initially had more books, but it felt like I was just trying to fill space) so let’s get into it…

⇒ ON THESE BLACK SANDS by Vanessa Rasanen | Goodreads – I am so excited for this book! Pirates and snarky characters? And that cover?! I’m all for it. Also, Vanessa is such a lovely friend over on bookstagram. I already have an e-arc for this, so I’ll be reading it soon! If you’re interested in it at all, you can purchase signed copies from her shop, Crab Apple Books.

AMONG THIEVES by M.J. Kuhn | Goodreads – I love everything the synopsis says about this book. I love heists and secret identities. Even more, I love the way the MC, Ryia, is described as a quick blade and having a quick tongue – and she has to band together with a bunch of misfits to get shit done. Sold.

OF BLOOD AND FIRE by Ryan Cahill | Goodreads – I bought this book after I saw it all over Instagram. I purchased a numbered hardcover edition from the author and, boy, the love and care put into the details of the design is damn impressive and has me even more excited to read it!

THE GODS OF MEN by Barbara Kloss | Goodreads – Instagram ads got me with this one but boy, that cover! It’s gorgeous. Can you blame me? Plus, it’s a story about a girl on the run and I love those kind of tales – even my D&D character is a girl on the run, so yeah, I’m down for this.

DAUGHTER OF THE DEEP by Lina C. Amarego | Goodreads – I am a sucker for pirates, so obviously I bought this. It sounds like a murder mystery, pirate-y goodness with a possible friends to enemies to lovers romance? Even if it’s not, I love the idea of the MC having to deal with the fact that her childhood friend is suspected of murdering her own father. Oh, the intrigue.

DREAMS OF THE DYING by Nicolas Lietzau | Goodreads – Another book that snagged me because of Instagram ads (they really know how to target me, don’t they?). I honestly don’t know a whole lot about this one. I like the idea of dreams meshing with reality and that it’s a blend of fantasy and psychological horror. Plus, the cover is pretty freaking neat.

That’s it! Told you it was short and sweet. Have you read any of these? Do any sound interesting to you? Do you have any indie fantasy recommendations?
