The Sunday Post: Oops, I Forgot to Blog

Every other week I participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer. The meme is weekly, every Sunday, but I’ve decided to do it bi-weekly since I don’t usually have that much to share every single week. So, here are some updates from the last 2 weeks!→ Oops. I forgot to publish blog posts last week! That’s what I get for not blogging with a schedule. Though, here I am on Friday (when I wrote this post) with nearly an entire day to plan ahead! Lesson learned – I am not a wing-it type of person when it comes to blogging.

Honestly, last week was just a bit all over the place. First, a fun pregnancy symptom I’ve developed is Eczema on my eyelids (yay!). I ended up itching it a bit too much (and not moisturizing – smart), which led to an infection, which led to a stye. I looked like a monster for a few days while I could barely open my right eye. It’s all better now, though, besides some dry skin! THEN, we also had a leak in the hose that connects the water to our fridge. All it was was an itty bitty pinhole leak no bigger than a flea that got water EVERYWHERE. Y’all, don’t underestimate the power of water. That is also now fixed, though. Then, my husband and I were just lazy for 2 days because why not?

→ If you read that, thank you for letting me lay the annoying things in life at your feet. At least it ended with everything being okay and now it’s the weekend! I have my next doctor’s appointment on Monday where I need to schedule my Glucose test. Has anyone had to take that before (especially you moms)? Is it bad? I heard there’s something nasty I have to drink. Any tips appreciated 😉

Still on this one!

LOL nothing since my wrap up. Sorry folks.

I didn’t blog hop as much as I liked last week but I did read a few great posts:

How has August been? What books or movies have you read/watched lately?

My daughter is 24, but I thought for the glucose tolerance test I just drank something, waited, and did a blood test. You poor dear. As if eczema wasn’t bad enough, you got it on your eyelids. Ouch! I hope it subsides soon.

Ok, that doesn’t sound too bad. I’ve heard the drink can be really gross but then others don’t mind it at all. We shall see lol And thank you! It’s starting to I think. Just really dry and flakey but not AS itchy.

I started reading “a leak in the hose” and I’m here thinking which body organ looks like a hose 😂 😂 You Started with pregnancy symptom and switched so fast that I thought you were still talking about something pregnancy-related 😂 😂 😂 Water is freaking potent for sure!
I’m not pregnant but I took the Glucose test once and at least what they gave me was an orange-colored drink that tasted like the Fanta orange soda without the soda lol it wasn’t too bad, actually.

“Lesson learned – I am not a wing-it type of person when it comes to blogging.”
LOL, I’ve been scheduling for a couple of years now, and it saved my little blogging ass 😂. Also, I assume it’s a bit more difficult to spontaneously concentrate on blogging in your current situation. I’m glad the nasty things went back to normal, and yes, you and your husband deserved two lazy days…and then some.

hahah I used to schedule EVERYTHING but once I got back from my hiatus I was like “let’s try this new way of blogging” LOL NOPE. I basically just won’t post anything at all >.<

For a glucose test they test your blood when you haven’t eaten anything, then give you some sugary liquid to drink (I think it’s literally just water and sugar) and check your blood again to see how well you handle glucose. It should be a pretty simple procedure. Oh I had issues with plumbing this week too! It was my shower though. And take care of your eye!
    Have a great week!

Okay the glucose test is starting to sound okay now haha Everyone has been saying its pretty simple. I hope your plumbing issues are fixed! Unfortunately, we woke up today to the SAME HOSE leaking in a different spot >.< Calling the plumber soon. Ugh.

I don’t do well when I wing it blog-wise either. There was a time I could get away with it, but not in a long while. Planning and scheduling ahead is a must for me. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of time to plan and schedule ahead and so I feel like I’m always playing catch up . . .

I am sorry for the recent troubles you have had, but so glad to hear they are mostly resolved. It’s amazing how much water can get out of even the tiniest of holes, isn’t it? And I hope the eczema clears up soon and you find some relief. Ah, yes, the glucose test. If you have ever had a colonoscopy and had to drink THAT concoction, the glucose test is a breeze. Haha. I found the glucose test drink to be awfully sweet, but bearable. It turned out that I did have gestational diabetes, which was no fun, but I survived as did my daughter. Good luck!

I hope you have a great week! Enjoy your reading!

Honestly, same. I thought I would have a couple posts already written out over the weekend but I don’t. So now I have to cram a little lol

I’ve never had a colonoscopy but everyone has been saying the drink for the glucose test isn’t really that bad haha So I’ll take your word for it 🙂 I’m glad everything is fine! The gestational diabetes just went away after right?

I usually need to schedule too or I miss stuff lol. I think my Top Ten post last week I was finishing up literally before I posted it. Ergh. And oh no- sorry to hear about the water leak. Yes it does not take much to get water everywhere- so true.

Hope you have a great week ahead 🙂

Yeah, that’s been me recently. Last-minute editing and what not haha Have a good week!

I’m not much of a planner with blogging either. I usually write my reviews the night before I post them, but I’d probably benefit from a little more planning!

It’s been a while, but I think with the Glucose test you just drink a sugary, soda type drink and then have your blood drawn. Although this was in the 90s so things may have changed, lol. Getting eczema on your eyelids sounds awful! Glad to hear it’s clearing up, though. All the weird stuff us moms have to go through, right? Hope you have a better week!

    • Reply Molly's Book Nook 08/12/2019 at 6:15 am

I suck at planning reviews! I just don’t do that anymore. I read and just write the review basically the day I want it to go up lol

I think the glucose test is basically the same, based on what everyone has been commenting haha

I thought the drink for the glucose test tasted like super sweet lemonade. I had trouble keeping it down because I had morning sickness for all nine months of all four pregnancies, but really it’s not something you should be worried about 🙂
I enjoyed Sorcery of Thorns, I hope you do to.

    Have a great reading week

    • Reply Molly's Book Nook 08/13/2019 at 6:29 am

I’m glad to know it’s not that bad but also, I’m so sorry you had morning sickness the entire time! I haven’t had it at all so I can’t even imagine.

      Have a great week 🙂

Oh my goodness, what I week. I hope the eczema is a temporary thing and clears up quickly. The glucose testing isn’t too bad. Just rather lengthy and boring… so take a book! 🙂

    • Reply Molly's Book Nook 08/13/2019 at 6:28 am

Things are starting to get better this week haha it’s only Tuesday and I ALREADY need the weekend! I hope you have a good week 🙂

  • Reply asreadbytina 08/12/2019 at 10:18 am

All three of my glucose tests were gross but thankfully I had no issues with that. It tasted like flat orange soda and you just sit there for an hour (or two? I can’t remember) so I’d definitely take a book with you to pass time by. I’m definitely trying to plan ahead and schedule things because when I first started blogging, I did but now that just kind of went to the side and I haven’t done that in a long time. I really should get back to it.

I hope you have a wonderful week and that the test isn’t too bad for you.

I wonder if they’d let me go run some errands while waiting hahah I can’t really read in there >.< Planning is hard to be honest. I think there's difficulties with both methods. Like I totally said I would write stuff over the weekend and then life happened...so here I am, last minute lol I hope you have a good week!

I can’t wing blogging either… I never write posts that I don’t plan. ❤️ Sorry to hear about your eye and your refrigerator!! No wonder you didn’t have any posts!! I hope both are fixed up now.

    • Reply Molly's Book Nook 08/13/2019 at 6:25 am

Almost fixed >.< Turned out the same hose leaked yesterday but in a totally different spot! So now we just replaced the entire hose. Should be fixed now :)
