The Sunday Post: Holy Moly, I Got Busy

Every other week I participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer. The meme is weekly, every Sunday, but I’ve decided to do it bi-weekly since I don’t usually have that much to share every single week. So, here are some updates from the last 2 weeks!

Well, ok, I jinxed myself. Remember how I said the beginning of October was super chill and I got a lot of reading done? Welllllp. Now it’s not. I suddenly got very busy and got NO reading done! Yikes. Buttttt, I had my first baby shower on Saturday (again, I’m typing this up before the weekend). I also have a baby shower coming up on Friday – that one is with the neighborhood. So, it should be a fun two weekends! I’ll share about both of them on my Monthly Wrap Up (since that is the next post like this going up).

→ I didn’t expect to be so busy but in prepping for the baby shower this past weekend, I also found out that the roofs in our community are getting done starting on Monday (yes, tomorrow)! This means I had to get the backyard prepped for that including finding a temporary place to put our three rabbits since I don’t want them getting roof material in their cages or anything dangerous falling on them. It also means I don’t really want to be in the house the whole week…so we’ll see how productive my week is while I am probably visiting my parents every day lol

I didn’t post as much as I wanted – but maybe the week visiting my parents during the day will mean I can do some blogging to get ahead!

I recently started Caraval. I am finally diving into this world! I will know what all the hype is about (hopefully)! I don’t know why I’ve been putting reading this one off. For some reason, I thought it was about a circus? And I’m not a huge fan of stories that revolve around a circus. I’m excited to really get into it, though – I’m only about 15 pages in so far.

What finally got me to read it is that it is the current read-along Read & Gush over on Instagram. I’m very behind as I’m pretty sure they finished the book yesterday. Oops. I’m hoping to get a bit more reading in this week, though.

Have you read this? Thoughts?

I am a terrible person and did no blog hopping in the last 2 weeks. I am so sorry! Again, hopefully, this week I am not as bombarded with a to-do list. Eep.

We’re halfway through October! Anything exciting happen in your life? What is the best book you’ve read this month so far? Anything spooky?

It’s understandable that you couldn’t be more productive…then again, the roof is probably going to throw another wrench in your works…unfortunate, isn’t it? Maybe you can blog at night LOL (says she who needs 8 solid hours of sleep to function). I hope your baby showers went/will go well!

I was also not a huge fan of The Haunting of Hill House but I did love We Have Always Lived in the Castle by her! Have a great week! 🙂

I hope you have a wonderful time at your baby showers and hopefully get lots of books for your little one!

I hope the baby showers are lots of fun! And that you manage to stay scarce a lot during the re-roofing. I was home 1 days out of the 2-3 that our last house was being re-roofed and oh my goodness, the monotony of the pounding (nail guns) about drove me batty. 🙂 I’ve heard great things about Caraval. Hope you will love it!

Thank you! So far I left one day that was the WORST day. It was the removal of the old roof day and the debris and noise from that was terrible. They haven’t started putting the new roof on yet so we’ll see how that goes lol

Sounds like you have a lot going on. Home improvement and baby showers will keep you busy. Hope the roof gets done quickly! Happy reading!

Yes, I feel like we’re basically busy for the rest of our lives now because baby will be here soon and every week is filled with stuff until then haha

That’s so nice that people are throwing you two baby showers. I hope they are both lots of fun. I loved Caraval. I am not a huge fantasy reader, and I was able to really get into the story.

My reading has been terrible lately so you’re not alone lol. And good luck with the roofing this week! That’s always fun haha.
