Every other week I participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer. The meme is weekly, every Sunday, but I’ve decided to do it bi-weekly since I don’t usually have that much to share every single week. So, here are some updates from the last 2 weeks!
→ Holy crap, I feel like I haven’t been on my blog in AGES. I haven’t written any posts or blog hopped in weeks. When I went onto Feedly, there were 16-day old posts that I still hadn’t read! Where have I been? (that’s one secret I’ll never tell – sorry had to). But, really, I have no idea. I’ve been sort of busy but not super busy. We celebrated my birthday and my dad’s birthday at the end of August. Then this last week I’ve been prepping for camping next week! Which brings me to my next point…
→ I will be out of town camping from September 10th – 14th! I’m super excited! I have some posts written and ready to publish while I am gone but I won’t get a chance to reply or blog hop until the following week. I’ll try to take some photos to post on my next bi-weekly chat 🙂
Oh, what a surprise, I didn’t post as much as I had hoped again. Oops.
- I reviewed Warrior of the Wild (which was a great book!)
- I discussed tagging authors in reviews and about my audience
- I posted my August Wrap-up and Book Haul
- I reviewed Alone, a YA thriller
I’m currently reading House of Salt and Sorrows. I’ve been reading it for a while and I DON’T KNOW GUYS. I’m on page 170-ish and not really loving it. I keep being told how amazing the ending is but I’m so bored. It’s taking forever to get ANYWHERE. And if I have to read about their effing shoes one more time, I’m going to throw the damn book.
SO, because I’m struggling and I’m about to go on a camping trip (meaning I need to bring books!), I might be mixing up what I’ll be reading. I’m starting a new 30 by 30 challenge with Milana from A Couple Reads – 30 books to read before we’re 30. Our first two for the month of September are Station Eleven and Daughter of the Forest. I’m also going to bring Serpent & Dove with me! We’ll see if I actually read any of these lol
I didn’t do a lot of blog hopping and, as mentioned earlier, I was very behind. So here are a few posts that are from the last 2-3 weeks that I enjoyed!
- Marie from Drizzle & Hurricane Books shared book recommendations based on the shows you like
- Laura from Green Tea & Paperbacks talked about not liking to write negative reviews and how she wants to get over that feeling
- Shannon at It Starts at Midnight is bringing back Shattering Stigmas – here’s the sign up if you want to participate!
- Chai from Like Chai Tea shared 7 reasons she loves reading romance
- Kat at Novels & Waffles shared her insider secrets to avoid blogger burnout
How has the first week of September been? What are you currently reading?

Thank you! I had a great time 🙂
Enjoy your camping trip! I’ve been super behind on my Feedly as well somehow, even though I’ve been blog hopping a little each day! There’s just so much to read.
Ughhh I now have so much to catch up on because I’ve been MIA since last sunday! EEEEK
Happy birthday, and have a wonderful time camping! The Daughter of the Forest is really good; I hope you enjoy it.
Oh I’m glad you enjoyed that one! Hoping to start it next week!
Happy belated birthday! I hope you enjoy your camping trip!
Also sad to see that you’re not loving House of Salt and Sorrow! I was planning on reading it soon but shoe descriptions do not appeal to me! Haha!
Thank you! And we had a great time! I took a break from House of Salt and Sorrows. I’ll pick it up again soon probably.
I hope the camping trip goes well. That you have good weather and an amazing and relaxing time.
It was great! Thank you!
Yay, enjoy your camping trip! I always seem to bring way too many books on vacation, but better to be safe than sorry!
hahah Yeah I brought tons and read NONE of them. Ooops lol
Happy belated birthday, Molly! Hope you have a fantastic time camping. I’m laughing so hard at your comment about House of Salt and Sorrow. “If I have to read about their effing shoes…” LOL) Too funny. Um, maybe it’s time to set that one aside. Just sayin’. 🙂
Thank you so much! And yes…hahaha I set the book aside for now. I’ll probably pick it up again in a bit lol
Those pesky shoes hahah! I love this post, so fun! Have the best time camping looking forward to see how far we each get with Station 11 this week hehe!

I never did read Station eleven, and I kinda wanted to. I should really get that one and make myself read it ha! And sorry to hear about House of Salt and Sorrows- hope it picks up for you.
Have a great camping trip!!
Thank you! It was a fun trip!
Aw thanks so much for sharing my post! I appreciate it ♥♥
Hope you have an amazing time camping! House of Salt and Sorrows… so I mostly liked it. The shoe thing was absolutely weird. But I liked it more than I didn’t, so that’s something ha. I loved Warrior of the Wild too! And I liked Serpent & Dove! I really need to get to Station Eleven soon too- I have had it for YEARS, but alas.
You’re welcome!
I think I’ll continue with House of Salt and Sorrows someday. I just have to be in the mood for it hahah
I hope you enjoy your camping trip!
Have a great reading week

Thank you!
Oh nooo!!! I’m so so SO disappointed to hear that about House of Salt and Sorrows but strangely (I’m getting caught up on blog posts that I missed the last two or so weeks) not surprised because this is the second less than stellar thing I’ve read about it today so I’m like ??? DANG. Hope you had a wonderful birthday, and the same for your dad’s birthday, ANDDDD, I said it in a comment on another post but I’m saying it again, enjoy camping!!!
UGH ME TOO. I want to like it so bad. I took a break but I’ll probably pick it up again later when I’m in the mood hahah
