5 Stars

This is the shortest movie review I’ve ever written – and probably will ever write. Not because I hated it, but because I freakin’ loved this movie. There just aren’t any bad things to say about it!

From the opening credit sequence, you’re going to be laughing. With credits like starring “a hot chick” and directed by “an overpaid tool”. This film knows how to make fun of itself from beginning to end. There are many nods to past superhero movies, even including Ryan Reynold’s own Green Lantern. So, you’ll have some great laughs just from those moments.

On top of that, the dialogue is hilarious – which is expected from Deadpool. He has a quick wit, sharp tongue and loves to piss people off. Coupled with quirky music and over-the-top, gory action scenes – you’re in for a fun ride.

Oh, and if you were skeptical about Reynold’s being Deadpool, because of his attempt at Green Lantern, rest assured that he does a phenomenal job playing the part of a potty-mouthed anti-hero.

Here’s a downside to this movie, not for me personally, but maybe for others:

This is NOT family friendly. First off, it’s Deadpool and if you’re unfamiliar with who his character is, he’s not a family friendly guy. Second, this movie is not done by Marvel (which is owned by Disney), it’s a 20th Century Fox film and they pulled out all the stops when it came to nudity, gore, and vulgar language. This is Deadpool, so duh. However, if you think you can take your kid to this movie because it’s a “superhero” movie, please consider this. I mean, it’s rated R for a reason.

Seriously, though, this is an AWESOME movie – go see it!

I really liked this movie too! I saw it Saturday night and the movie theater was packed. I was kind of surprised because there were some parents with kids there and the whole movie I was thinking to myself how inappropriate it was for them. I heard that the movie was already slated for a sequel which is pretty cool!

It broke box office records this weekend! It was a great movie, so definitely well deserved. Also, it’s not okay for children (in my opinion). I think what’s happening is parents just see another superhero movie, so they take their kids, but it’s not Captain America or Iron Man. I mean, it’s not HORRIBLE, but for a 7-year-old to see butt sex and a penis … maybe not. haha

I don’t know much about Deadpool even though I’m a comic fan, so it’s good to see a review. I also thought Marvel was doing this, so that was new to me too. I have heard it’s good, and also that people were taking their kids to it. Oops. Check the ratings people! 🙂

    Glad to hear it’s good…

I thought Marvel as well, but I guess 20th Century Fox owns the rights to Deadpool. Also, yes! Check the ratings! There is literally a sex scene montage – that’s not appropriate! But, it is good – for us adults lol

I am DYING to see this movie!! I’m honestly just waiting for the hype to die down so I can see it without 18374387 other people in the theater with me. I’ve also heard that a lot of parents are still taking their kids because they don’t understand what “Rated R” means. -_-

It was packed! We saw it twice and both times the theater was full! So, yea, you should definitely wait if you don’t like that haha. I hope you like it when you see it! Let me know 🙂 I personally don’t remember seeing kids in the theater, then again, I wasn’t looking. But it’s definitely not appropriate! I think parents just think it’s another superhero movie so they take their kids.

Okay, I saw this today and I LOVED it! I honestly didn’t have any idea what to expect because I didn’t know much about Deadpool, but it was such a good story on top of a hilarious character! I really wasn’t expecting a good story based on what everyone’s said about it… I’ve already preordered on Amazon 😉

YESSSS! I’m glad you liked it! It was super funny. Now you know what all the hype was about 🙂 The story wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t bad either. Reynolds definitely carried that movie, he did such a great job as Deadpool!

I don’t know much about Deadpool, or rather, I don’t remember much about Deadpool. But I am excited to see this movie. Everyone I know has been talking about how funny it is. Maybe this weekend will be my lucky chance to see it.

I loved this and the crowd was laughing at the opening credits. I was worried about this since I wasn’t sure if Ryan would be good for this role. But he was perfect for this. I have to see this again and definitely buy a copy when it’s released on Bluray.

It really was a laugh-out-loud movie from the very beginning. Did you stay until the very end credits? Even that was funny! I will be buying it right when it comes to bluray! 🙂

I can’t believe I missed out on seeing this review earlier on?? I saw Deadpool too, and everything you’ve just said is SO CORRECT!
I love how it points out all these stereotypes at the start and fulfills them, but in such a comedic way xD

It was HILARIOUS! Even to the very end. It was just so good 🙂

YEP!!! Did you watch the after credit scene?

        • Reply Molly 02/25/2016 at 6:43 am

Yes I did! I didn’t even realize it wasn’t a Marvel movie until that scene xD haha whoops! So it was kind of funny, since he was basically referring to myself. lol

This movie was AMAZING! I have so much love for this movie and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool! I wish they wouldn’t have waited so long since featuring him as Wade Wilson in X-men Origins: Wolverine!

Yes! Reynolds was fantastic as Deadpool! I’ve already seen this movie twice and am totally going to buy it when it comes to bluray !
