Every other week I participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer. The meme is weekly, every Sunday, but I’ve decided to do it bi-weekly since I don’t usually have that much to share every single week. So, here are some updates from the last 2 weeks!→ Sooooo I jinxed us. Remember that leak from the hose in our kitchen that got the living room carpet and wall wet that I said was fixed? Well…technically that leak was fixed but then a few days later the same hose leaked in a different spot. It went through the wall, soaking our carpet in the living room again. This time, we replaced the entire hose but now our baseboards are off and we cut a hole in the wall to dry it and just….guys….replace things when they break, don’t just patch it up 😆 (side note: both jobs were done by a professional, not DIY, but replacing is sometimes a better option than patching up)
→ Overall, this month has just been really daunting. When it rains it pours, right? It has just been one thing after another and I really need a vacation (yay for camping in September!) On a personal note, we have a bit of a scare with the baby. I’m going into an MFMS for a consultation on Tuesday because there might be a cyst on his brain. Not going to lie, I’m freaking out, but I’m also trying to stay positive. The doctor said he is healthy otherwise and that she’s not even 100% sure there is a cyst, so I’m getting another ultrasound. Has anyone had any experience with this? Any advice you can give me? Or if you have no experience in this, please just send positive vibes my way!
→ On a positive note, I felt the first baby kicks a couple of weeks ago! It makes me so happy every time I feel him ♥ (although, he likes to when I’m trying to sleep and that wakes me up or stops me from falling asleep lol). He’s an active one 🙂
I’m still trying to find a schedule of posting that works for me. The one I originally set up isn’t working out as I don’t usually find a lot of time on weekends to write posts. I’ll get there! Here are the few I shared:
- I talked about the changes I’ve noticed in the blogging world since coming back from my hiatus
- I went back to my blog help days and shared how to use and switch to Feedly (are blog help posts still wanted? Let me know in the comments & if so, what kind of things do you need help with?)
- I reviewed Sorcery of Thorns!
I’m planning on at least FIVE posts before my next bi-weekly chat. Let’s see if I can do it! It includes 2 discussions, at least one review, my wrap up, and maybe a giveaway (not 100% sure about this one yet, we shall see!)
- Sophie at Sophie’s Corner had a guest post by Sanjiv Lingard on the Four Rules of Writing
- Sarah at Written Word Worlds shared mental health must-reads for 2019
- Chana at Paper Procrastinators talked about bookworm stereotypes – it was funny, accurate & true
- May at Forever & Everly shared her 5 most disappointing reads this year so far
- Marie at Drizzle & Hurricane books shared 10 YA contemporaries you should read
- Lashaan at Bookiodote talked about juggling multiple social media platforms and the struggle of doing so
- Jessica from Book and Broadway shared 20 must-read standalone books
How were the last two weeks for you? Are you excited for August to end? What is your favorite book this month?

Oh no! I hope you’re able to get that leaky hose fixed once and for all! Isn’t home ownership great? XD I’m sending all the positive vibes your way for you and your baby! I hope you love Warrior of the Wild. That was one of my favorites of the year!
Home ownership is just so stress free and full of fun lol >.< And Thank you <3
OH MY GOSH, that is the WORST. I jinx a lot of things in my life too so I feel like this is definitely on brand with something that would happen to me. Hopefully nothing like this happens again for a long while! I mean, such is life, blah blah blah, but DANG the frustration/inconvenience.
(Sounds like a total Murphy’s law type of month. “Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.” No matter how mundane. Just pure annoyance after annoyance.)
I’m sending you guys all the positive vibes re: the possible cyst on his brain.
hahah oh man, so we’re on the same page! lol And yesssss, I hope nothing like this happens for a while because I CAN’T DEAL with anymore lol
& YEP definitely Murphy’s Law type of month. 100% agree
Thank you so much <3
Oh no- sorry to hear about the water! That is so annoying when something like that happens. I had my own plumbing type adventure a while back and you’re right- sometimes it’s better just to replace outright!
Sending positive vibes your way about the baby and I hope everything is okay! Good luck with your consult and ultrasound!
Warrior of the Wild looks so good. I think I need to get that one, I really liked Sky in the Deep and they looks kinda similar.
Plumbing is the worst to deal with because of how much damage water can cause. Luckily we have no water damage but it could have been worse! The leak was in a spot that was hard to notice because the water was seeping into the carpet at a spot that isn’t walked on a lot >.< & Thank you so much!
Sending good thoughts your way, I hope the ultrasound eases your fears.
Have a great reading week.
Thank you so much <3
Goodness! That is quite a time you’re having with the house and possible cyst with the baby! We haven’t dealt with anything like that with our kids, but I do feel like it is better to check on things and know than not. My kids, particularly the last one, always were active when I went to sleep. The last one always seemed to get the hiccups then and it was hilarious, but made me want to cry too because I just wanted to sleep. I think they sleep a lot when we’re active during the day so they’re active when we’re not. Lol! We’re reading Warrior of the Wild for our book club this next month and I’m super excited because I have the ARC and bought a copy and never got to it, so I will now. I hope we both love it!

Yeah, I mean the doctor said it could be nothing and a mistake, so I’m really crossing my fingers! Also, most cysts tend to just go away on their own but there is a small risk of complications. Either way, I find out tomorrow so here’s to hoping its good news!
AND YES. He’s always active at night hahah Sometimes after I eat but he’s the MOST active before bed. Like last night, he was really aggressive hahah (I was also watching a thriller/horror movie so maybe he didn’t like that lol).
I hope you enjoy the book! I’m only about 40 pages in and it really just dumps you right into the story!
I pray the baby’s fine though. SENDING YOU SO MUCH POSITIVITY RIGHT NOW. But AWWW THE BABY KICKING IS ALWAYS SO PRECIOUS!! Him keeping you up at night is still rewarding since you get to feel him kick so it’s a 50-50 for the both of you lol. Okay, you mentioning your pregnancy journey is just making so soft. I can feel the connection between you and your son through your posts and it really warms my heart reading things like this. You’re already a great mom 🙂
Definitely excited for August to end. This month flew by fast for me and I don’t mind. A lot of the books I look forward to are coming out around October-December so there’s that. Plus I just want the holiday season to come faster too *only because the family comes together and well, FOOD. GOOD FOOD.
oh my goodness, hormones just kicked in and that made me get all teary eyed <333 That was so sweet of you to say! & the perfect thing to wake up to!
August has sort of gone slow & fast for me haha it's a mix! But I am pretty glad for it to end. I want a fresh start to the month lol & Yes, that is a great reason to want the holidays to come! This year will be so weird because we usually host the holidays but I AM NOT COOKING at 8 months pregnant/baby should be here by christmas! hahaha
Definitely completely replace something LOL There’s a saying in Spanish that I say it to myself on a daily basis because I always do something that warrants it: The lazy ends up doing more work than necessary. And it’s so true! Granted, sometimes not having enough money for something requires patching it up and hope for the best. But that’s something I gotta learn: replace it no matter what LOL (Btw, I’m not calling you “lazy”. It just reminded me of myself and my own experiences so I wanted to share the spanish quote).
Please keep us updated on the baby!!! I’ll be praying for you!!!

HAHA It’s so true, though! It’s nice to try to fix things before replacing but some things you shouldn’t even bother trying to fix lol
Also, good news! Baby’s fine <3
Oh no, you totally jinxed yourself. Womp womp. 🙁 What a mess that had to be. Glad it’s truly repaired now, though. Isn’t home ownership a joy? LOL I so hope the tests go okay and there are no issues. I know it’s impossible not to worry, though. I hope your week is off to a good start, Molly!
Homeownership is full of fun surprises lol Good news, though! The ultrasound from the MFMS came back with nothing. He’s ok 🙂
Awww, the joys of home ownership, lol. I really hope that everything is okay with the baby. Baby kicks are just the best, aren’t they? I always loved feeling my son kick.
They are the best! Except when they cause heartburn lol BUTTT good news! He’s okay 🙂 No cysts!
Sending positive vibes your way about the baby!! I hope everything is okay with your consult and ultrasound too. ❤️ It’s horrible when you have a problem and it only gets worse. Thank goodness it wasn’t too bad.
Good news 🙂 He’s ok! Perfectly healthy. The MFMS didn’t see any cysts <3
Awwww that’s such good news.
Yes! I’m happy <3
