6 Amazing Books That Should Be Talked About More

6 Amazing Books That Should Be Talks About More

Sometimes the insanely hyped books overshadow less-talked-about books on release day. It’s understandable. We’ve all waited an entire year for the sequel to one of our favorites books, we’ve all waited for the newest series from our favorite author, or we’ve all just been waiting for that book that everyone is talking about.

But what about those other books released on the same day? We shouldn’t forget about them, because no matter how much hype a book has, how popular it is, how well-known an author is, a good book is a good book. So, here are 6 books that I loved, released the past year (2015/2016) and that need a little more of our love.

A TOTALLY AWKWARD LOVE STORYBYTOM ELLEN & LUCY IVISON (3)

I’m like a broken record with this book. I wrote a 5-star review, said it was the book that made me happy in my mid-year book freak out tag and said it was the book that gave me all the feels in my Netflix & Books book tag.

So, I really don’t need to go into detail about why I love this books again because you guys might just think there are some technical difficulties going on. Just go check it out 🙂

trouble

This book is when Sherlock Holmes meets Young Adult meets some illegal activity?

This got some mixed reviews mainly due to the character Digby, but I loved his character. There is some light humor while the book also deals with a somewhat “darker” topic. It’s a unique blend. I highly recommend this one if you want to read a good YA light mystery and like books about friendships. Also, there is a sequel coming out in November! Here is my review.

the witch hunter

I’ve mentioned this one a few times as well because I feel like it is so underrated. It’s a perfect book to read if you love the fantasy genre or if you’re impatiently waiting for your favorite fantasy series sequel to come out, read this one in between.

It was also one of my favorite books from last year. It had a great plot that hooked me from the beginning there are two things that made it stand out:

  1.  While there is a love story, it wasn’t really a focal point  (at least for me). In fact, I kind of forgot he was there sometimes, which was a good thing because there was more time spent on the MC & the plot.
  2. There is another female character in this book that I thought was going to just be another mean girl, but she was so much more than that. So, points just for not having the same mean girl trope! Here is my review!

This was one of the first YA Contemporaries I read last year that actually catapulted me into a contemporary frenzy. I loved this book. It wasn’t only about a love story, it also has great friendships, especially between the MC and her best friend. It was just a wonderful story about finding yourself written in an entertaining then and now format. Also, there is a novella about Matt’s story (what he was up to before the events of this book). Here is my review.

liarsandlosers

Oh gosh, I will just keep on recommending this one until someone reads it and talks about it with me! It wasn’t what I was expecting at all, and then it just blew me away and I cried, guys, cried. Please, just read it. My review!

*This book does deal with some tough topics at times like sexual abuse and suicide.

This is sort of your typical high school love story, but it’s Emma Mills execution of it that makes it so good. I loved Mills’ writing and she really knew her audience. There are tons of Jane Austen references, too. So, if you’re looking for an easy, cute, high school romance story with plenty of miscommunication between the characters and great one-liners, then here you go! My review.

This list mainly contains contemporary YA, but hey, they’re good & there are a lot of them that don’t get discussed. I hope you discovered some new books to read through this 🙂

Have you read these? What do you think about them?

What are some books released in the last year that you wish got more love & attention?

I’ve seen The Witch Hunter pop up here and then but I couldn’t remember ever hearing anyone talk about it. Just lots of giveaways haha. But now I’ll know to put it on my TBR!

hahah yeah, it didn’t get a whole lot of steam when it first came out and now there is a sequel so I thought it was fitting to include on this list 🙂

I’ve only read The Witch Hunter. I rather loved that one. Have you read book two yet? I have only heard of one of the other books. Looks like I now have some new books to look forward to reading. Great list!
